ABOUT THIS VISA

The Skilled - Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476) is a temporary visa that allows recent engineering graduates to live, work or study in Australia for up to 18 months. You must have completed a recognised engineering degree or higher qualification from a specified institution within the past 2 years, and be under 31 years of age.

 

SKILLED - RECOGNISED GRADUATE VISA (SUBLASS 476)

 

To be eligible for the Skilled - Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476), you will need to:

  • Currently hold engineering qualifications from a higher education course (minimum bachelors degree or postgraduate diploma) in an engineering discipline such as civil engineering, structural engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, electronic engineering, mechanical, production or plant engineering, or mining or material engineering. Your institution MUST be ACCREDITED under the Washington Accord. It cannot be AFFILIATED by the Washington Accord. Higher engineering qualifications can also be obtained from: universities found on the list HERE.

  • Meet the necessary health requirements.

  • Meet the necessary character requirements.

  • At least English levels equivalent to IELTS band 6 or be from the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or Ireland.

  • Be under 31 years of age.

  • NOT have previously held this visa or a subclass 485 visa previously.

  • Repay any debts to the Australian government.

  • Not have had a previous visa cancelled or refused.

  • Sign the Australian values statement.

  • It must be in the best interests of a child to apply.

COSTS & DETAILS OF THE SKILLED RECOGNISED GRADUATE VISA (SUBCLASS 476)

The Skilled - Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476) currently costs $405 for the main applicant and additional charges for each family member.  There may be additional costs for health checks, police certificates, biometrics or to cover the cost of other checks as may be required. You can be in or outside Australia when you apply for this visa.

WHAT THIS VISA LETS YOU DO

The Skilled - Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476) lets you stay in Australia for up to 18 months whereby you can travel, work and study in Australia. There is no opportunity to extend this visa however you can include your family with you or as a subsequent entrant. With this visa you can travel in and out of Australia as often as you like.

 

 

WHO IS THIS VISA SUITABLE FOR

This visa is suitable for recent engineering graduates from schools that are accreddited in accordance with the Washington Accords who are also under 31.
