The New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship Visa (Subclass 461) currently costs $340AUD for the main applicant and $170 for each family member over 18 or $85 for those under 18. There are other costs for health checks, police certificates, biometrics or to cover the cost of other checks as may be required. You can be in or outside Australia when you apply for this visa however if you apply in Australia, you must be in Australia when the decision is made and similarly if you apply outside Australia, you must be outside Australia when a decision is made. You cannot stay longer in Australia if your visa expires however you can apply for another New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship Visa (Subclass 461) if required and you meet the requirements.
